    Elliot M. Pines, Ph.D.

    Elliot Pines completed a BA in 1978, Magna cum Laude with High Honors in Physics, from Brandeis University. He joined Hughes Aircraft Company (HAC) in 1978. Awarded a Hughes Master's Fellowship, he completed an MS in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology in 1980. Awarded a Hughes Engineer Fellowship, he completed an Engineer's degree in 1983 from the University of California, Los Angeles. In 1984, he was elected to the electrical engineering honor society, Eta Kappa Nu. Awarded a Hughes Staff Doctoral Fellowship, he completed a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 1986 from the Solid State Structures Laboratory, also at UCLA. Dr. Pines has worked in modeling, characterization, and special analyses for 23 years, eventually in the position of senior scientist/engineer. At the merger with Raytheon Systems Company, Dr. Pines continued in the position of senior principal electrical engineer.

    Dr. Pines has numerous internal company publications of a proprietary nature, and has a shared publication on orthopositronium (electron-positron atom) decay rates in liquid helium.

    Dr. Pines resides in Los Angeles with his wife and three children. He is an active member of Anshe Emes Synagogue, and has begun his third cycle of Daf HaYomi (daily Talmud study). He has lectured at California Chapter and National conferences in Los Angeles of the Association of Orthodox Jewish Scientists (AOJS), and at the recent B'Or HaTorah Conference in Miami. He has presented lectures on various topics in Torah & Science at Anshe Emes, his corporate Torah Club, and retreats.
